- Here is some very important info for the women. Debra and I have know about this for years. There is a book “Dressed to Kill”. That was fifteen years ago. So this is not exactly new news. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/05/19/Can-Wearing-Your-Bra-Cause-Cancer.aspx
Want to understand Cholesterol, then watch this video!! http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/06/06/Tips-to-Lower-Cholesterol-Naturally.aspx - Here is Jerry Brunetti. You’ll love watching him. I attended a day long seminar with him at an ACREs convention. Several of you have borrowed my CD’s with his lectures. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXW5Ydvu5Ow&NR=1
- Here is another segment of the Brunetti video. When you are at this video you can watch the other parts of this lecture. I don’t’ know how Utube works and I don’t know what the numbers mean, maybe someone can fill me in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSV6WmHbTGk&feature=related
Got the hay done and did not get any rain. We still have a few seats available for the film FRESH on the 16th at La Sous Terre. Debra and I will be in Jefferson City this Tuesday for the NAIS listening meeting with the USDA. Should be very interesting as several organizations are planning a news conference and a peaceful demonstration. Most of you don't appreciate the significance of NAIS. Most of you are very concerned with obtaining your food from local and small producers. NAIS, if implemented as proposed, will cause most small producers to go out of business. That is the message USDA is getting, loud and clear, in the prior meetings . But are they listening? We are picking up a lot of support from food groups.
We have an update for the PRODUCTS on the main page. It is under Milk. I am trying to change the title to REAL MILK, but have not been successful yet.

- I see I did not describe what the film Fresh is about. Go to their web site and view the movie trailers. That will describe it much better than my words. Check out these trailers and you’ll want to see the entire film. http://www.freshthemovie.com/about/more-trailers/
Important information re Vitamin D. http://products.mercola.com/vitamin-d-spray/?source=nl
that's it for now. I've got to get the baler ready. The hay is this week end, weather permitting. Art and Debra.

- The local screening for the newly released film Fresh will be on Jun 16. We are having a happy half hour starting at 6:30 pm. The movie will be shown starting at 7 pm. There will be additional time at La Sous Terre for discussion after the film. We’re sure after watching you will want to discuss points this film presents.
- Since we have limited seating, we are asking that you call 660-656-3409 to RSVP. As soon as the seating capacity is reached, we will have to close the list. We are not issuing tickets so, when you arrive we will check off your name.
- Here’s an interesting article from Huffington’s Post about ana Joanes, director of Fresh. Those of you planning to attend may want to read the article before seeing the movie. http://www.freshthemovie.com/2009/05/22/ana-joanes-on-huffington-post-new-thinkingon-what-were-eating/#more-265
- Beef orders are going well. We have 1 and ¾ remaining. For those that have placed your order, you will be excited to see prices this past Saturday at Nature’s Pantry. Top Sirloin $15.69, Ground Beef $6.79, Chuck Roast $6.79, Rib Eye $15.00, KC Strip $14.99. All are per pound. Oh yes, a whole fryer was $4.19. I actually saw a lady put one in her cart, $25 plus change. Remember, ours are $2.75 per pound. Our beef price is the same for this year, $3.10. After trim and shrink from dry aging your price per pound is roughly $3.48.
- Your invoices for beef orders will be sent to you via email.
- Finally, here is a lot of “food for thought”. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/michael-moore/goodbye-gm_b_209603.html

- We just returned from the Kansas City screening of the newly released film “Fresh”. A powerful film. We are planning a screening in Warrensburg. No date yet. It’s just in the planning stage. Stay tuned. If you’re interested send me an email with your preference for the day of the week and time. The film is one hour long. Go to http://www.freshthemovie.com/ to see some of the trailers.
- Those of you that have listened to the Jerry Brunetti lectures are aware of Low Dose Naltrexone and alpha lipoic acid. If you’ve not then be sure to watch the interview. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/05/26/Powerful-Breakthrough-Beats-Cancer-and-AutoImmune-Diseases.aspx

- Made some formage blanc this week. It is so easy. Had an excellent recipe this morning for our pancakes. One cup fromage blanc, three tablespoons honey, zest of an orange and two tablespoons of Guernsey cream. This is an excellent topping for homemade(from scratch) pancakes.

- The USDA has added six more sites to try to promote NAIS. Things have not gone well for them so far. There has been a lot of oppostion at the meetings. So, they've add six more. I guess in hopes of finding someone that supports them. One is scheduled for Jefferson City on June 9. The location has not yet been announced. The meetings start at 9 am. I guess Lila will get milked early on the ninth.
- I got my beef processing dates, so the invoices will be going out to those that have ordered beef.
- Here is a good video on bone health. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/05/23/Can-Calcium-Actually-Make-Your-Bones-Weaker.aspx
- For those of you not familiar with the Weston A. Price foundation here is your introduction. We have had a link to their web-site on our web site since day one. Go to MORE, then LINKS and you will find it. It’s the red word “nutrition”. It’s a good site to visit monthly for the latest information. Here’s the video http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2007/10/06/the-greatest-nutrition-researcher-of-the-twentieth-century.aspx
- Be sure to read the related article at the end of the main article. Politically Incorrect: The Neglected Nutritional Research of Dr. Weston Price, DDS
- We had a two inch rain and had just got most of our garden planted. We also got our acre and a half of field open polinated corn planted. The wheat looks great, both the red and the white . We will have some wheat berries, so get your grinders ready to grind some fresh flour.
- Debra picked a gallon on fresh strawberries from our patch and just baked a shortcake. That and fresh Guernsey cream is to die for.

- I sent an email last night to everyone, who I had on file as wanting beef this fall. I may have missed someone. If you DID NOT get an email last night, and you wanted to order beef, please send me an email ASAP. This email is titled "Breezy Hill Update". The other was titled "Beef Orders". If you want to place an order for this fall, you need to do so soon.
- Milk Customers--please remove the date tag before washing the jar. It makes removal difficult after the tag is heated.
- Rosebud is due June 15 and Princess is due July 1, so more milk customers can be added. Remember, some existing customers are on vacation, so two more could be added now.
- Hi Art,
We came by and bought 5 chickens and tried your milk a few weeks ago. It was beyond fantastic, and everyone drank it up rather quickly. Do you have room for 2 gallons a week?
Thanks!
Beth

- We are still enjoying our beef. I just wanted to write and say thanks for the educational info.

- If you didn’t catch “Up to Date” today with Michael Pollan, you can get it at this link http://www.kcur.org/uptodate.html#Monday . It’s worth listening to. Debra, our daughter Marlies, and I have our tickets for his appearance this Wed sponsored by RainyDay Books. See you there!
- Chicken day is May 22, this Friday. For those that order I’ll send you the pick-up time. The next will not be until late June.
- Two milk customers (6 gallons/wk) are going on vacation soon for several weeks. That means we can accept some new customers. Rosebud is due June 1 and Princess is due June 15. I have several yogurt makers that I got thru e-bay. Real milk makes great yogurt. We do not follow the directions when making yogurt. We only heat to 105 deg. That leaves the enzymes in tact. Remember add a small amount of good quality dried milk, if you want consistency similar to store bought. Of course, it is getting close to great ice cream weather. Why buy store stuff with all the ingredients other than cream!!
- We are still taking orders for fall beef. We weaned our fall crop yesterday. Pete and Debra helped with the sorting which helped. It only took two hours. We had to retag the replacement heifers. We separated the replacement heifers and will put No 17, a bull with New Zealand genetics that we raised from one of our best cows. He really looks like he will be a great bull. Oh yes, the heifers look great as well. They are at least 25% New Zealand devins.

- I almost forgot. I had a conversation with a potential beef customer recently. They had purchased freezer beef from someone, and when I told her that that "farm" has no cattle. The "farm" is just a broker for other producers. She was in disbelief. She agreed with me that the individual was a good talker. My experience is that anytime you introduce another link in the supply chain, there is the potential for misreprentation. So, here is a solution. Always, ask for a tour of the producers farm. Next, always ask how much the mother of the beef weighs. Then ask how much the beef your are buying weighs. Your beef should weigh 100 # more if a male, and 100 # less if a female.

- Ok, Chicken day is May 3 and 10. Price is $2.75 per pound. Minimum order is 5 fryers. Cook one and put the others in your freezer. Remember, if you go to the city it will cost mucjh more and the quality is less
- Did you know? Large beer corporations have been doing this for years. It’s how they kept their percentage growth increases even when they were losing maket share with their primary brands.
