Breezy Hill Update Aug 17, 2016

Posted 8/17/2016 8:51pm by Art Ozias.

  • Blackberries are done, but we still have raspberries.   The Martins left last week.  The many barn swallows are still here.
  • We sold our last two Brown Swiss milk cows this week.  They went to someone who had bought one two years ago.  Sad to see them go.  We started with Rosebud over 10 years ago.  Great family cows.
  • We still have two A2 Guernsey family milk cows for sale.  One I'm milking and get 3 gallons each day.  The other is due Feb 16, 2017.  We are slowly downsizing.
  • The next possible Dirt Hogs are Aug 23.  If interested let me know.
  • The next ground beef day will be Oct 8.  We have a full list of requests and may not be able to fulfill all the requests.  The next time will be in late Nov or early Dec.
  • Now is the time to plant your fall vegetable gardens and winter vegetables.
  • We have several pear trees that are loaded.  If interested let me know.

This is What “Feed the World” Looks Like Today  I think you’ll like Alan Guebert.  He grew up milking cows in Illinois and unlike many present day ag writers actually knows something about agriculture.

Magnesium — An Essential Mineral for Heart Health

Sixty-four other nations have been labeling genetically modified organisms (GMOs) for years. Here in the U.S., Monsanto's influence runs so deep, we just became the first country in the world to UNLABEL GMOs, as President Obama will soon sign a bill that nullifies Vermont's GMO labeling law, which just went into effect July 1.

Be sure to read this section of article.  Academics Review — Just Another False Front Group for Monsanto

Monsanto not only helped raise funds for Academics Review, Monsanto executives also "collaborated on strategy and even discussed plans to hide industry funding," The Huffington Post writes.
