Breezy Hill Update 22314

Posted 2/23/2014 8:50pm by Art Ozias.

  • We stopped at Nature's Pantry yesterday and the place was packed.  We usually go to the city during the week and were amazed at the number of shoppers.  Here are some prices.  Organic Valley has a "new" product, non-homogenized, grass fed milk.  It is $6.49 for a half gallon.  It's pasteurized and is not A2.  Ours is a bargain, just wish we had more.  I know it's been tough for several of you, as we have had a limited supply due to weather and udder injuries.  Ground beef was on sale, 50 cents off at $9.29/lb.  I saw someone by three packages.  An arm roast was $10.79/lb.  Total cost over $30.  A whole chicken was $5.19/lb.   Those wanting fryers for this year need to email Virginia at and reserve your chicken.
  • We will be starting our straw bale gardening project soon.  It takes two weeks to get the bales cooking.  Hopefully, this next weeks cold snap will be the last, and we can get serious about spring.  Debra has several trays of plants up and growing.  Our green house is still producing all the spinach and lettuces we can eat.

This had only 30,000 views when I saw this today!  We need to have 3 million see it.  Share this with someone who has children in a public school and eats the schools lunch.  If you're a grandparent, send it to their parents.  This update goes to 600 +, so everyone needs to add it to their facebook page. Let's shine some light on this problem.

Butter consumption is up, as margarine health hoax finally collapses.   Learn more:

The use of the herbicide glyphosate (the active ingredient in Monsanto’s best-selling product, Roundup) on genetically engineered (GE) corn and soybeans has absolutely decimated milkweed plants in North America.   Jerry Brunetti mentioned this in his presentation at the recent ACREs convention.  .

Consumer Reports tested more than 300 chicken breasts purchased at stores across the country, and found nearly all of them to be contaminated with potentially harmful bacteria. .
