Breezy Hill Update 101611

Posted 10/16/2011 9:19pm by Art Ozias.
  • Chickens are sold for this year.  Chicken day will be next Sunday.  Pick up will be at 4 pm at the farm.  I will send a separate email to those on the list.  If someone drops out I have a couple of names on the waiting list.
  • I have ten turkeys left to sell.  They will weigh  17-30 pounds and are $3/lb.  Someone has already spoken for the biggest one (Karen).
  • The ground beef processing is scheduled for Oct 24, so this week I will be sending notice (email) to those that are on the list for ground beef.
  • We need rain.  I have been feeding hay to the milk cows just to (hopefully) keep them fresh.  Production is way down.  We are reducing quantities to hopefully keep everyone getting some milk.
  • This has been a tough year.  Spring was wet.  Grass had no energy so beeves did not fatten, and then the three weeks of heat was difficult on animals. Now we have the drought.  Hopefully, next year will be better.

Please take the time to watch Dr. Mercola’s video at this link.

Be aware of new tactics for the upcoming “flu season”.   You may want to simply tell the employee at checkout that you’re not ready to get the flu. (Some are working on quota system or trying to qualify for a free I-pad.)

Most of you read or saw on TV the latest assault on vitamins.  Did you know the “rest of the story”?

Here’s your chance to continue the fight to get our food labeled.

Let’s flood the system.  You “facebookers” may want to add this to your wall.

that's it from the hill.  Art and Debra
