Breezy Hill Farm Update Mar 26, 2017

            BREEZY HILL FARM WEEKLY UPDATE

  • We are still waiting on the Purple Martins.  Last year they were later than usual. This year we thought they might come early.  I may have to clean out the sparrows again.
  • We are adding names for this year's beef harvest.  It looks like in about two weeks we will start the pasture rotations.  We sure did need the 1 1/2 inches of rain that we just had.  I have fed more hay this year due to the dry spring than for snow.  I think we may have had one inch of snow, twice.
  • This past Saturday we had a table at the KC Food Circle Expo.  Despite the rain there was a very good turn out.  Got to meet a lot of people, and there was a lot of interest in locally produced foods.
  • Debra has moved a lot of seedlings to the green house.  The next step is get the raised beds ready.  Since we had such a mild winter, it has been much easier to raise the various greens, lettuce and spinach.  We've had all we could eat.

Do you read labels? I do, even though some of my friends scoff. They say we're all going to die anyway.  I'm not afraid of dying. I'm afraid of poor health. So, I read labels and look for those food additives science tells me to avoid. Read on and I'll wager that Michelle convinces you to do the same. http://www.fermentools.com/blog/food-additives/
